people have been living on that volcano since the dawn of time, so i'd say your chances are pretty slim. the howler monkeys are actually rather human friendly providing you don't stumble into their territory. their aggressive tendencies usually don't exceed the occasional slinging of excrement. it's the smaller, white-faced capuchins that you have to be weary of despite their cute and cuddly appearance. i got a picture of one luckily, but he wasn't too happy about it.

i sure didn't. sleeping outside in a hammock at the base of an active volcano with the sound of howler monkeys barking off in the distance was quite the experience.

hah. i never really had a chance before then to leave the country. Nicaragua seemed like a good place to wonder around aimlessly by myself. a country that earned the title, "the land of lakes and volcanoes" was enticing enough for me.

yeah. radio Disney has to be violating a whole slew of laws. when it's clear though, some amazing programming from middle eastern, Asian, and South American countries will punch its way through.

likewise. unfortunately, it was just a HF receiver. i was taking advantage of the clear airwaves in the Nicaraguan country-side since radio Disney bleeds all over everything like a stuck pig up in this part of the world.
