Oh fuck. It's actually happening? I got dates on the Chicago gig at the Metro in May as part of the Burning Fight book release show, (Burning Fight is an upcoming book covering the 90's hardcore scene.) and there is supposed to be a SoCal date - hunting that down at the moment, if anyone has any info hit me up.
In addition to Unbroken, many of you from the old guard will recognize Split Lip, Trial, Underdog, 108, and many others on this bill. Hopefully this gets pulled off without a hitch.
For you younger folks who might not know Unbroken (for shame!), they were a San Diego based Straight Edge hardcore band active in the early 90s, (members of Julia, Swing Kids, etc) and very much at the forefront of blurring the lines between traditional hardcore and a more driving, dark, and emotional sound. They would become an inspiration and undeniable reference point to many of the bands to follow, especially in the early 00's.
I am jealous of the Unbroken complete discography lp being released there. Hopefully I can get someone to pick me up a copy. Title and cover are perfect.
Pretty sure i've seen reach the sky with boy sets fire. (hahaha) Ive been listening to Bane wayyy too much lately though.

I in no way want the repressive fundamentalist attitudes of the 90s coming back at all
very true,it seemed like the 90s were all about not having fun at all. i cant remember how many times i went to a show hearing some lilly white college asshole ranting on stage for 25 min about some obscure cause. i will say that the music was awesome though.
this is what got me into and abruptly out of political action as a youth.
now all those dudes are lawyers or work for microsoft.
I'm a little jealous over the discography vinyl that is going to be sold at the cali show and not the chicago one. Hopefully i can manage to find someone to hook me up.
chokehold was awesome i never really got into morning again. but then again i really really loved green rage, culture, excessive force etc etc. the militant vegan sxe mania in the mid 90s in hindsight was really really funny.
im all for substance but..........not when its contrived and cheap. there were tons of bands with messages back then that i fully backed, earth crisis, trial etc. but some of the extremist bullshit politics back then were such a turn off. seattle in like 94-96 was like a fucking no fun zone.
I understand what you mean but I love bands like Chokehold and Morning Again. I am a little bias as I am sxe and vegan but I don't care what people choose to do as long as it doesn't effect others.

i'm not too big on 90's american hardcore but i want a youth attack reunion
Could happen but shouldn't as they were an edge band. Dvd is coming out soon (if it hasn't already)

So are you anti-music with substance? I understand being anti-hardline even though I like some hardline band, but at least they had a passion.
