The above photo was taken from my bedroom window in my apartment in Boston during the winter of 2000, the year Makeoutclub started. Was feeling a bit nostalgic over the weekend here in LA due mostly to the unusually cold nights and the rain yesterday and today... - and I started pulling some old records and mixtapes off the shelf.

With the rush of memories and nostalgia that is triggered by a change in seasons or weather often comes it's soundtrack - and with the first day of winter around the corner, I thought it would be cool to share our perfect winter playlists.

Writer, musician, and performance artist extraordinaire Lisa Carver (Lisa Suckdog) was responsible for one of the most fantastic early 90s zines ever, Rollerderby. She performed in bands (Psychodrama, Costes), toured the world, was a prostitute in her teens, married Boyd Rice, penned a ton of articles and books (Dancing Queen, Drugs are Nice), was a sex columnist for Nerve, the list goes on...

Basically, she's fucking interesting. I'll attach some links at the end of this so you can go read up if you're clueless, but the reason for this article is that she's having an insane garage sale right now... Lisa is selling awesome shit for dirt cheap... everything from original photos, drawings, and writing, to an interview she did with her ex-husband and world reknowned Satanist and troublemaker Boyd Rice, to cool records, and a whole whirlwind of interesting/creepy/cool/unbelievable ephemera. Get on it.
