Does anyone else here host a radio show? What kind of format? Time? Locale? I'm on WXYC-Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC. Tuesdays 3-6 am (eastern time). If anyone has any requests tonight, I'll post the contact info when I get there.

Oh by the way, our format is ecclectic. And you can also find us on itunes. And there's plenty for you to request from...we have like 46,000 releases in our library.

www.wxyc.org I'm on. Just in case you were interested. I like requests and will be happy to play what you want as long as I'm not overwhelmed by them (but only serious ones. I'm not playing Tim McGraw,....and yes, that has been requested).

ours is one of the 25 best according to..someone..us and Duke are the only ones from NC. other schools on it are like harvard and NYU. OUur only problem is we only have room for 46,000 volumes so each year we have to throw some stuff out (fortunately there's always something that is bad to throw it...it's just a matter of finding what it is)

Why not just use mp3s?

mp3's aren't the same. nothing beats fine grain vinyl.

I guess you are right. Although, whenever I get new vinyl, I record it and encode it to a high bitrate mp3 so I don't have to fuck up my new record. They just sit in their nice little sleves for the most part.

----update-------------------------------------- -- I'm on the radio again tonight. Midnight to 3 am EST. So if there is anything you want to hear and listen in, let me know. Two interesting things I will be playing tonight: Japanese hip-hop and this really obscure song from the "Married to the Mob" soundtrack from this group called Q. Lazarus that, as far as I know, never released an album. In the mean time, I'm gonna grab some dinner and pick out some more stuf to play.
