I live in DeKalb, where it happened, when I'm not at school in Chicago.

So far everyone I know at home is okay. One person was in the room it happened in, but he wasn't hurt.

Global ONGOING problems like AIDS epidemic, starvation, ethnic wars etc arent often mentioned unless there is a significant CHANGE in the climate regarding these issues... (a change in leadership, a power shift, a great achievement or progress, etc). Which there always is (on fox news, cnn, your "white media" channels etc) if something of import occurs.

The front page isnt going to have a DAILY update on issues that have plagued the world for years if there is no significant change. However there are MANY radio stations, websites, and organizations that bring these issues to light DAILY... among them Join Red, Rock for Darfur, WNPR, to name VERY FEW.

This thread is about a local tragedy here in America. Why shit on the situation disrespectfully by citing other unrelated tragedies? Youre like some screaming 12 year old that knows nothing about politics trying to get attention.

The deal in Darfur can be ended.. but the govt in Sudan is to busy pocketing money from charities. They only allow the AU in ..African Union because their corrupt as well.

Oh in regards to the shooting... at least 30+ people didn't get iced like the Virginia Tech shooters deal..now that was a f-ing massacre. .

this scares the shit out of me.

Perception is reality. If you think that prayer helps, and you believe in the ideals it represents, then those beliefs can translate into ACTION. If positive and fruitful action arises as a result of your belief, than, yes, prayer really CAN change the world.
