in all seriousness, most people don't like to be talked to when they're upset. So be there, but don't say anything. At all. Just siting there's enough. Wait 'til she's all cried out and calmed down, then you ask what's wrong. If she says "nothing", then just leave.
Of course, she doesn't actually mean "nothing"; she's trying to be a pain and make you go through the trouble of pushing and prodding and prying for an answer. Stupid games, in my opinion....you should just say "fine, whatever" if she goes there. And then, when she's realizes her being a baby isn't getting her anywhere, she'll be straightforward and willing to give you an answer.

Or she might give you a straightforward answer in the first place, in which case you should just listen and say supportive things, and refrain at all costs for relating any of it to YOUR personal problems or past experiences.
