My amazing uncle (seriously, he's this crazy badass rancher lawyer cowboy type with a taste for good art and fine wine...) is the same way. He cooks himself one amazing dinner every night, and that's all he eats.

ugh.
i feel for you.
cafeteria food is shit.
pure and simple.
i'd just go grocery shopping there and get takeout stuff from the salad bars and cook it at home...

i've no idea how many $7 meals consisted of cereal with water or a bowl of chickpeas.

Well, hopefully! Haha. I do fasts from time to time just to clear my system, you know? Right now I'm sticking to organic fruits (apples, grapefruit, watermelon, and berries), unsweetened tea, pomegranate juice, and water. For the first couple days I eat fruit, but after that, I never get hungry! So, I stick to lots of water, tea, and I'll make juice out of the rest of the fruit.

I love granny smith and pink lady apples - I usually cut it up as I eat them. I give a slice to myself and then one to my dog. haha Anyway, after my Shakespeare class, I had salad, Diet Coke, and I've been trying to finish a piece of cake. For dinner, I'll probably eat sweet potatoes with chocolate milk, and if I'm really hungry, I'll put Nutella on a slice of bread. That's usually what I eat on a daily basis, but now and then I'll find some really good pasta or cooked vegetables in the cafeteria. Yum!

A CUP OF COFFEE SO FAR TODAY.

LAST NIGHT I MADE BEEF BACK RIBS WITH A MIXED BERRY, SOY SAUCE, ORANGE JUICE, ALLSPICE, PEPPERCORN, GARLIC, SHALLOT, BROWN SUGAR, AND GROUND CLOVE GLAZE. I SIMMERED ALL OF THOSE DOWN INTO A SYRUP FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND BRUSHED IT ON THE RIBS SEVERAL TIMES AS I FINISHED COOKING THEM UNDER THE BROILER. THAT IS AFTER I RUBBED THE RIBS WITH DRIED CILANTRO, OREGANO, PAPRIKA, SALT, AND PEPPER AND THEN STEAMED THEM ON A SHEET PAN WITH ORANGE JUICE, SOY SAUCE, AND CHICKEN BROTH.

Yes.

Probably best to also involve some oats, honey, raspberries and furious spurtling action.

yes please.
i usually go for a big buckwheat indian pudding or just full on grits (i'm a breakfast person...),
but a good scotch oatmeal (thoroughly spurtled!) with honey, raisins and the pecans from my trees pretty much can't be beat.

i think i might be getting sick,
so i'm going to cop out and go get a nice extra-spicy thai curry for lunch.
