Which ones do you love?
Which ones are you glad you didn't get?

- my mother's wide feet, thanks mom
+ my father's artistic ability, thanks dad
and luckily, my nose is closer to that of my grandmother on my father's side than my mother's

+ um i dont know that theres much about my parents that i wish i was like.
i am quite artsy like my mother though but she knows nothing about music so im happy i picked that up on my own

- i am glad i am more responsible and clear headed than my father and i am proud to say that i have much higher self esteem than my mother.

also, this thought came about after a conversation with my cousin
our mothers are twins so we were comparing our own similarities
we're more like sisters

+ Music soul from both sides (Gypsy blood through my mom, but my dad's mom's whole side of the family spent their lifetimes on backswamp louisiana porches drinking black coffee and homebrew, smoking and playing music and my dad has seen some of the greatest early blues' musicians live in sweaty churches [he's old].)

I didn't get my dad's blue eyes. My dad's got brown hair, but red hair runs in the family. I don't think either of those two traits would suit me too well =/
Both my parents had high metabolism....until they got old. I'm good for now.
My mom is ridiculously short; my dad is ridiculously tall. I'm basically average height, which I like.
My ear lobes are attached (yuck!). I've never bothered to check who I got that one from.
I've got an awful German nose. That somehow skipped my dad, but I got pinned with it =/

Overall though, there are so many DIFFERENT genes between my parents, and me having taken about the same amount from both of them, I don't look too much like either of them really...

Dad's nose
Mom's skin tone

Green eyes which I'm thinking is a heterozygous (oh shit, I remember high school biology) mix between mom's brown and dad's blue eyes
My brother and I both inherited bad skin, but we're not sure who it's from. We're thinking dad.


And I have freckles and blonde hair which I really don't see anywhere in my family. I'd think I was adopted if I didn't look so much like my dad.

Cramped jaw courtesy of my father.
Also - expletive laden cooking techniques.
Thankfully I didn't get his utter tonedeafness.
Which brings me nicely on to my mother who like most people in the sixties was a folk-singer.
Her dad was a timpanist alongside supplying drums and leadership to a jazz band.
I would rather like to be a jazz drummer, but I must content myself with playing most other things.

And I have both parents to thank for not being many dioptres off legally blind.

(Very much making a mess of the whole nature/nurture thing here, but I'm not sure my physical features are especially noteworthy/plastic-surgery-worthy/whatever.)

I got my fathers nose, which is unfortunate.
I have the ashy blonde/brown natural hair color from my mum. Which is also why I dye my hair.
My mum gave me the ability to gain weight around my waist before anywhere else, which is kind of shitty.

I got my dad's height, which I'm always in a love/hate relationship with.

I got my mum's eyes, which I love.
And my dad has great hair, which he passed on to me.
The ladies on my dad's side of the family have small tits and a large bum, I got that. I like that.
Oh, and my mum has awesome ankles/legs, which I am so happy I got stuck with.

My mum's tits went from a AA to a HH in less than two years while she was in college. So far, that hasn't happened to me, and I'm quite thankful that it hasn't. I pray to god it never will, haha.

- My height, being below 5', is often very upsetting
-Weight, from both sides. My sister lucked out.
-Nervousness - I have this way worse than my mom, but she helped to inspire.
-Shyness - both Mom and Dad
+Intelligence - both families are well-educated or naturally smart
+ Blue-green eyes - Grandma on Mom's side
+ Artistic abilities - this passed over my mom and dad to me - my cousin, sister, and I all love writing
+ Musical abilities - definitely not from my dad
+ Little feet

I have a lot more negative things to say, but I'm not going to go into that... except that genetics basically are to blame for the fact that I was born a girl instead of a boy.
