So that Blur reunion that’s been rumored for over a year now was thiiiiiis close to happening at the recent Glastonbury festival. The band had been offered a headline slot at the festival but, according to bassist Alex James, Damon Albarn’s own mother said no (he probably had homework to do):
"Blur very nearly played Glastonbury this year," James wrote in The Independent. "There was a pang of regret when I heard Damon [Albarn]'s mum had nixed it at the 11th hour.”
The door is still wide open and it is very likely that the world will get some sort of Blur reunion in the future, the band just seems to be waiting for complete irrelevance and obscurity before doing so. We're close gents!
