oh i can hear it because it cuts off about 1/4 of the audible spectrum. although some people will claim the response is 7hz - 25k this is never put into use because the time limitations of the record would limit you to about one minute per side n a 12 to produce true sounds, so the effective freq range on most pressings 400hz-16k which is a substantial loss in frequency....aka shitty
there are also limitations in the amplitude available due the nature of the groove....
i could go all day with the inadequecies - I can also emulate that crappy sound by manipulating my 60 band digital eq and if i realllllllly wanted to hear noise i could plug in a white noise generator, and flip my receiver into monaural.
i just think it is a dumb attempt to hold on to some pseudo-authenticity
