Ooh! See, I look a helluva lot older than I am since I got my braces off and I get hit on by older guys now. Older as in up to forty. It's pretty creepy. Uh... Creepiest instance was the ice cream man. I was trying to buy a (vaguely phallic - I didn't notice) popsicle and he's like "Dayum, you look good! Here's my card... You got a boyfriend?" And I backed off like, "I'm 15!" Aaagh. I feel your pain.

heartbroken on the one hand; waiting to rubberneck the disaster when the 30 year-old who lives in his parents basement wants you to have his baby after one cup of coffee and you awkwardly reject his advance, followed by his stalking and slicing you up with the samauri sword he bought at epcot center's gift shop.

eff his b, hard. god, i hope he doesn't choke fuck you like this girl that lived near me..
ahh, once i saw her in a coffee shop with some old dude in a brown suit with a camera and a dark brown bow tie
some lady at the coffee shop called the police, cause the girl was like, 17
a year later this girl turns up dead cause' she liked hanging out with older, sketchy ass dudes [Benjamin Fawley, a 38 year-old amateur photographer and self-described "Goth/skater from the 1980s.]

anyway, yeah, basically they found out that the cause of her death [even though it may or may not have been released] was due to autoerotic autoasphyxiation! so, um, don't go hanging out with old ass sketchy dudes unless you're trying to get buried in the ground, or something.

well, the old dude was a totally different dude; just another old fucker trying to skeeze on a hot 17 year old girl

but yeah, the cops came in and questioned him..
i was there with some of her friends visiting and grabbing coffees before we hung out in the cold all day

i fucking hate their coffee^^

this girl was nice, but i think had some daddy issues
[not to infer the girl going on a date with a 30 year old has daddy issues]
i just think it was a safe bet, to say the least

I was under the impression that as long as everybody involved is 18+, then it's all A-OK. A number of magazines and video/DVD legal disclaimers over the years have given me that impression.

That said, when I was 30 I had a brief relationship with a 20 year old and felt like a dirty old man. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Hell, at least I'm no Ron Wood...not yet, anyway.

I am generally very wary of significantly older guys. That said, I'm now dating a guy who is coming up on 28 and I am barely 21. So far it is going pretty well.

with the exception of one, all my gfs have been younger. and any problems that ever came up were never about age/age related.

most dudes who are dating younger girls are doing so because:
A) girls in their/close to 30s are looking to start baby production and get married. there are a lot of dudes who DNW that in any way.
B) younger girls are a hell of a lot more active and fun than older girls
C) vaginas are not worn out and wrecked like a roastbeef hoagie :(
D) firm, supple, pouting breasts
E) ok hold up i think i'm getting off track here

POINT IS, YOU ALL BITCH ABOUT DUDES NO MATTER WHAT FUCKING AGE THEY ARE SO WHY THE FUCK DOES IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE

Burning: YOU ARE CORRECT, SIR!

Teenage: simple solution. If you are creeped out, JUST CALL HIM UP AND SAY YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND. Unless, you really don't have a problem with his age and you just wanted an excuse to post. Also: there really isn't any substantial difference between 29 and 30. Its entirely psychological. In my opinion, you're pretty much as mature as you're going to be by the time you're in your mid to late twenties.

Pescha: I love you.

at age 30 I am no more mentally mature or into anything vastly different than I was at 26, and in most cases, than i was at 23 or even 18. so it's not like i'd be in the coffee shop with you all "sooo... what kind of music do you kids listen to these days? i hear that "rap" stuff is pretty big. hold that thought, i've got to check some stocks. does this place have a payphone?"

i just care a hell of a lot less what people think of me now than i did when i was younger. and i can buy more stuff.

I tried to explain this concept to someone recently. They were vehement in defending the idea that people in their 30s couldn't POSSIBLY have anything in common with someone in their 20s, as if the human condition changes so much that it is unrecognizable with each generation. They claimed that a person in their 30s will always want to talk about historical events that the younger person wasn't around for. So basically they were saying that it would be exactly like, "sooo... what kind of music do you kids listen to these days? i hear that "rap" stuff is pretty big. hold that thought, i've got to check some stocks. does this place have a payphone?"

I had to end the discussion it was so unrealistic and .....silly, for lack of a better word, that it was driving me batshit.

it's not necessarily like he's going to bore you to death with info on stocks & old new wave bands... it's that there's no possible way you could relate to eachother sagaciously unless he's been living in a bubble for 10+ years. if he's loaded & that's what you are looking for then go for it. other than that... there's really no other reason to put yourself in this situation. unless you are into that kind of relationship dynamic... but if you were i doubt you would even be asking about this. go with your intuition on this one... he's a creeper.

i hate to call you out, hunny, but this simply isn't true. not even close. when i was 28 i began dating an 18 year old and our relationship lasted for over a year and a half. it was easily the best and most mature relationship i've ever had. way more so than any girl i dated closer to my age. like joint checking account and custom return address labels and shit. it's all in who you meet and who you fall in love with. she wasn't all "omg and then kristina was all like" and i wasn't all "chortle chortle reaganomics just say no alice in chains". to say "there's no possible way you could relate to each other" only proves you're the type of girl an older man wouldn't date, because you're into the bullshit and probably watch Gossip Girl.

you'll understand when you're older.

TBH it worked out well considering our circumstances. we were in it for the long haul. it just ended up not working due to geographical preferences in the long term. still the best relationship i've ever had, despite the 10 year difference and the ignorance of others.
