I'm sorry man, that's never an adequate way to receive information like that.

in my senior year of high school/freshman year of college there was a rash of
suicides from my hometown that I found out through myspace. totally fucked.

Well i could say... I'm sorry for your lost ...but Dying is part of Life be it going out from disease,hit by a car, or being killed in Iraq..what do you want a cookie ? None of us are immortal .. btw. Yes I shoot people damn right.. only if they attack my convoys or compound. .. I'm not ashamed of doing that type of mercenary work it beats sitting in a 9-5 type job., fuck that !

why be a dick about it? the least you could do is be sympathetic, since not only is it a part of life, but its something hard to deal with. duh. thats a simple part of life...compassion. and as for you shooting people, that just makes it more a part of life to you and you are more desensitized to it. so dont expect everyone else to treat death like nothing and to live their lives without a second thought as to those who have passed.

I think this is about communication and not about whether or not we appreciate/understand
death. I think we'd all be naive if we didn't accept that death happens, so I'm not sure why
that came into the conversation. hearing about death through the meta-world of the internet
is just so disingenuous, especially when it's people you were close to. that being said, the
lion is out of the cage and in this ever evolving technological society this news will be handled
with the advancements. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point someone realized they can
make money/opportunity from death announcement e-cards and text messages.

death is a facet of life we all get. the way we in which we get that news could be a little
more tactful.

I hate how people think that myspace is the end all of their life. how they have to beon myspace all the time and its the only wya to get a hold of someone. becuase its not that hard to pick up a phone and call someone with this type of news.
