no tummy aches! bangin!

i don't know if it's cause i'm eating meat again, or if it's from the occasional fast food....... but the past week has been awful

i was only doin a veg diet for a month (err... 26 days or some shit ?), but i think i'm gonna do it again for twice as long sometime soon

well, your body starts to lose the enzymes for digesting meat after a while, but it was probably more the shock of reintroducing it to your diet. so the main point is...either go cold turkey, or introduce a little meat to your diet now and then. but jumping from one extreme to the other is harsh.

my friend cooked me a vegetarian meal yesterday, and while it was really good...i've had the bg's all day.

i've been a vegetarian for about four years and the only thing i occasionally miss is a juicy steak or a high class burger, but i know from the two times i've broken my vegetarianism that i get a huge stomachache after eating meat now, to the point where i will throw up since my body is so unused to it.

yes that's a pretty logical way to approach the situation, but i should note i've had a long history of upset stomach. i don't recall having problems immediately after i started the veg diet, though. perhaps it's a one way deal ? who knows

yeah, it's really more veg -> meat where it gets bad. unless you're going anything -> raw, in which case god help you.

i've been vegan for 11 years, and there are so many good veg restaurants and grocery products now (esp. in LA) i don't miss meat at all.

The Smartlife sausage links are really good, and don't use egg in them like Morningstar does. Smartlife also makes pepperoni slices.

Whole Foods has a big selection of veg items todger, if you haven't checked that out yet.

Just an aside though, some of the fake meats in stores are made from highly-processed soy, so that can be tough on the system if eaten in excess. So just mix it up with tofu/tempeh/beans for protein. Restaurants like Real Food Daily don't have that problem because they make their own meats fresh.

I wanted to be a vegetarian soo badly and tried it last summer. Catered a wedding and all they had was like meat or some bread so I gave in and ate meat and just went back to my normal diet
I was so ridiculously sick for like a week, it was horrible. I didn't think that like 3 months would have made that much of a difference but gosh I'm glad I didn't stick with it and eventually give in like a year down the line

morningstar bacon was freaking delicious I remember as long as you cooked the crap out of it. And the fake steak strips with loads of veggies in a stir-fry was sooooo good.

LOL that's why I said "but it was probably more the shock of reintroducing it to your diet." I know you've got the MEAT ROIDS and that can make you all ADD.

OH MY GOD IT LOOKS SUPER WEIRD
but like pop it in the microwave for a little bit and it let it sit and it gets crispy and delicious. But if you don't cook it enough its chewy and kind of weird

i have been vegetarian for 5, 6 years. lately, i have been debating to incorporate fish into my diet and become a pescetarian or whatever.

i would suggest eat in moderation, however a few friends of mine ate steak after 3 years of no meat eating and they were both fine afterwards! so who knows i guess each person is different.

When I stopped eating meat, I did it gradually. Like held myself to eating meat 3 times a week, then twice a week, then once a week, etc. and then just quit altogether one day.

I think I've had maybe 2 stomach aches in the 3 years I haven't been eating meat.
I used to get them frequently before I became a vegetarian. I don't think my stomach ever handled meat well.

my best friend just sold out veganism on the excuse that he was feeling sick. now hes eating gas station food and fast food hamburgers and throwing it all up. i dont think hes feeling much better...

and yeah that smartlife bacon is soo good, especially on blt's. being vegan is great and even better when the cities you live in have awesome places to eat and shop at. so i guess im down for being 14 and bi.

LOL @ SOLD OUT VEGANISM.

I WOULD BE SICK IF ALL I ATE WAS GAS STATION FOOD AND FAST FOOD HAMBURGERS, TOO.

SO... HE'S NOT SICK AS A RESULT OF EATING MEAT AGAIN.

Could never picture going back to eating meat. Never seemed hard to do, been veg for 5 years and even easier now living in the city.
