for that you're on a temporary suspension. your admission in to the group will be up for review when others that i approve of join in on this and decide what the hell we should do with you.

i'd be willing to read just about anything book wise. i'm not big with comic books but thats just because i got out of reading them when i was 15 and never really picked it up again. right now i'm reading a book of short stories by faulkner and dragons of eden by carl sagan. are we all supposed to read the same book or will this be an anarchist book club where we rant about the bullshit we're reading?

i don't think i like to read the same types of books..

i don't do the graphic novels/comic book/ stuff in that genre
i don't do hipster
i don't do thriller/crime/horror books...unless you count classics like dracula...but i did read the dan brown novels.
i don't do harlequin romance. closest thing to that i've read are some sydney sheldon novels. but i DO like classic romance....
i did read the twilight series because a 17yr old coworker at my old job talked me into it. haha.

so i think this is a no for me.

i think the idea of a "book club" is to all read the same book on a similar timeline then get together and talk about what you thought about it.

i would prefer a book club where we could all read different books and get together and recommend them to eat other. this way everyone could read what they want and no one would necessarily have to be excluded because this month we're reading a horror book and they don't like horror, or whatever.

eh?

i think i'm going to read standing in two circles. i'm in the middle of dragons of eden like i said but that should be finished before the weeks end. oh yeah, i should also state that i'm not down to read most history books that are like "general poopy pant made his great declaration of death pestilence to the wonochongo indians on mt chimmy changa!" i prefer a little zazz to my reading.

BUT his stories are so fucking whimsical and fun!

I'd be down for a book club.

I'm currently reading Wuthering Heights my next read will probably be DRYLONGSO: A Portrait of Black America or Music in Western Civilization: A History in Documents

same
im late in the game and dont finish books as much as i start them, books comprised of essays you can dip into easily without having to remember plot is nice, so this sounds right up my alley, not to mention the visual and poetic art in it is intriguing

ill try to get to a barnes and noble this weekend
