Years ago we used to do a thing called "When The Summer Ends", which is basically a contest and community huddle-up where everyone posts stuff about their summer. It can be photography, writing, painting -- anything at all that best describes your summer.

Obviously a contest named after an American Football lyric is a killer idea - but we made it even better this year by sweetening the pot a little bit. The winner (to be decided by MOC staff) will get two tickets to the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans October 24-26! (NIN, Lil Wayne, REM, N*E*R*D*, Panic at the Disco, Dashboard Confessional, Butthole Surfers, Fishbone!!!, etc...)

We are looking for the best representation of summer as expressed through poetry, prose, photography, artwork, sculpture, art, dance (you can post a youtube of an interpretive dance), however you see fit. The theme has to be associated with summer but can be anything like: summer love, the end of summer, summer nights, summer heartbreak, the beginning of summer, etc.

If you upload artwork you might want to write a little something about your theme to help the judges out. Good luck!

I went to Portland at the beginning of summer (sorry Eric and Koley!). I took this picture on our flight home, it was my last image of Portland. I was really bummed out when we were leaving because we had so much fun there and I didn't expect anything else to be as fun and carefree as our Portland trip. I was right.

This contest should be narrowed to the most powerful of mediums.

- Finger painting
- Yodeling
- Hover-round dance-offs.

But changing that would lock me up the prize, I'm quite the pro at using the joystick on any electric wheelchair.

I did learn from the best. Of course I'm talking about my now retired-six-time parolympic gold medalist, Sarah Rivers.

the only fun stuff i did was a lot of hiking through the huachuca mountains, for pleasure and on field trips.
