Over the last few days myself, the_kernel, and our designer extraordinaire Ultramus descended on E3 here in downtown Los Angeles - a short walk from the MOC offices. We ran into a few MOCers (Ninja_Magic!), ate hot dogs, drank coffee, stared at booth babes... but mostly our eyes glazed over gleefully from the sheer amount of Video Game goodness we beheld. For those unaware, E3 is basically the mecca of the video game industry, a huge conference where all video game developers, publishers, companies, distributors, websites, etc... all gather and bump uglies. It used to happen annually, but has been either canceled altogether or off the grid (invite only) for the last 2-3 years or so, (replaced by SHITTY conventions like "E for All") - so this year's return of the original E3 was met with excitement and a mob of proud nerds... surprisingly well-dressed, attractive, and successful nerds. Seriously, I only saw like 3 morbidly obese basement-dwellers. My how times have changed!
The glory returned, and we were there to experience it all! Okay not ALL... we only had time to digest maybe 1/3 of the insanity. Plus, lines were long and we did not have the patience or fortitude to go up against billions of Otaku youth waiting in earnest for their chance to play the newest titles - so we crept around and watched instead.
Before I continue, I should state the obvious. We are not professional game reporters. Therefore our photos are taken with iPhones, and we only really paid attention to shit that was up our alley (RPGs, Fantasy, and Mario!) - that said and before we continue, here are the big things that happened at E3 that you should know:
- God of War III, Left 4 Dead II, Guitar Hero 5, two new Halo spinoffs, Mario Galaxy 2, Mass Effect 2, Crackdown 2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc...
- Xbox 360/Microsoft announced "Natal", their new completely motion sensor technology. Backed by industry celebs like Steven Spielberg and "Fable" developer Peter Molyneux, this thing looks insane. For more check this Kotaku link: http://kotaku.com/5274317...h-project-natal
- Final Fantasy XIII is coming in 2010, and so is Final Fantasy XIV, Squaresoft's next huge MMORPG! Final Fantasy VII was just released on Sony Network store (I downloaded it to my PSP last night!) http://kotaku.com/5276646/final-fantasy-xiv-debu t-trailer
etc, etc... In other words, go hit up http://www.kotaku.com for your news.
Here's our photos :)

Huge ass ads all over downtown LA... this one is for FFXIII.
Nostalgia, some new steampunk JRPG for DS that looks tits...
nerds...
Nerds!
NERDS!!1
Clearly the height of our E3 experience was this thing, which broke twice during her demonstration... Ahh indie games!
Anyone else?
Share your video game nerdery here. If you happened to be at E3, or have your own gaming rig at home, take pics and add them to this thread! :)
I do think the new PSP could be pretty cool looking, but I heard it's no more comfortable for big hands, so I'd have to wait and really hold one before getting too excited.
Also, a new Zelda is in the works but wasn't presented at E3 because the world is cruel. Miamoto presented it at a "round table" where no photos were allowed. Concept art emerged. It was only one picture.
