My main problem with straight edge is that it's fundamentally stupid in that it fails to see the line between substance use and substance abuse. To say that the two are the same is really fucking dumb.

Because obviously if you ever smoke or drink or ever touch any drug ever, your family will hate you forever, you'll drop out of school, your liver will fall out, you'll loose your job, you'll without a doubt end up homeless, you'll go into debt and you'll probably die, because all drug and alcohol use is extremly addicting and dangerous. Not to mention just be so much of a worse person than people who are straight edge. Therefore people who ever use drugs or alcohol should be treated like scum, ignored, avoided, and put in jail to protect the rest of us.

I love messages boards because people get so angry for the most retarded shit i in no way said that having the founder of edge on the edge doc was a bad idea i had issues with the four other people that have no point in the film and took issue with using have heart as your only current edge band example when they are broken up... further more why are there no examples of edge in non edge band situations chad from NFG is edge toby morse is pure edge and he isnt shown as in the film... it just makes me mad when you get Have Heart but not CIV... He's CIV!

another good example of edge in non-edge bands is about half the guys in Shai Hulud.
it'd be cool if they used bands like The Effort as edge band examples since they're all straight edge as fuck but NEVER talk about it and almost no one minus the edge kids know that they're actually straightedge.

another interesting person to put in this movie would be Henry Rollins. I'm pretty sure he's edge too.
