Anyone watch this tonight? Slow start but I still hold some faith for the show and only based upon the weird memories of the original series.

watched it, enjoyed it. especially like the idea of cell groups already landing on Earth before the main invasion.
and WS anna's lizard vagina. hard.

but i'd like to take an iron skillet to the face of the kid who is playing the "human race traitor" role

Bawww, is it so bad that I wanted the Visitors to actually be good?

This show is lame in how predictable it is. The son is like one of those nazi children who will turn on his mother and then the visitors will use his body. The mother will be the badass fbi heroine who will murder visitor after visitor until she meets face to face with the commander in the season finale. The black dude visitor turned nicey nice will tell his fiance that he is all scaley, she'll leave him, he'll fight with the fbi woman, they'll become besties, he'll die in the line of duty.

It's like Nazi WWII meets Farenheight 451/The Giver.

Disappointment overall.

...But I'm still gonna watch.

yeah, it's very predictable....because it's a remake. and what you just described with the son is an amalgamation of what happened to two characters in the old series. as for other things that will be predictable/expected: human lizard baby

also also predictable:

Other things that will be predictable/expected: liquid nitrogen frozen exploding hand.

They better make it good.

This is V?

I honestly have to say I prefer oldschool low budget practical effects camp to modern low budget 3d cheese. :(

Not to mention the liberal doses of fake stylistic 'edge' vomited all over it...

I had no idea. Then again, is anything original these days?

The only show that pulled that off was Battlestar Galactica, and even that got obnoxious after too long.
