The power went out, because there was a huge thunderstorm the night of the show. All of the roads were flooded and there were tornado warnings posted for the area. Nobody came out. It was myself and a couple of my friends and maybe five others. Instead of waiting until the power came back up, they sat on the edge of the stage, we sat around in a circle around them and sang along. Warmed my little heart.
This one is really tough. I went to a Free Yon show at the local bowling alley.
They're been a hardcore in my area for about six years, and it was their last show. They're from Highstown and a lot of kids from there has come to Hamilton. There was a pit for every song and there was a sense of brotherhood in the air and everyone knew each other, and if they didn't, they became friends. Somewhere in between the mansweat, circle pits, two steps and gang vocals, it felt like home. And to me, that's what a show should be. Music and the unity that the music causes. That's what a scene should be about.
Phil Lesh and Friends at Rothbury 2008 was my favorite show but not the best i have ever seen. I bought some peoples backstage passes an got to meet the bass player of Phish, guitar player of Thievery Corp and a couple guys from String Cheese
Still The Flaming Lips put on the best show I have ever seen
I just had a thought about Wilco 07 or was it 06
anyway
it was a really intimate affair
they were really touched by fans in WV.
and they were really cool just walking around town before the show and talking to whoever. <3

another one of those stories where you fall in love with a band after you fucking see them live
1. Coheed and Cambria Fall '05 Tour with Dredg and Blood Brothers
2. Death Cab For Cutie Fall '04 Tour with Pretty Girls Make Graves
3. Reggie and the Full Effect Spring '05 Tour with Eisley and New Found Glory
4. Mae Summer '05 with The Academy Is..., JamisonParker, and Days Away
5. Cheap Trick with Stone Temple Pilots World Tour '98 (My first concert)
Fuck. Okay, that show and the time I saw Teenage Head play with the Tranzmitors. After that, going to pat's pub to catch the Fe Fi Fo Fums play. Then party.
Considering that I go to shows constantly, there's going to be a list of favorites here.
They Might Be Giants was a kickass show.
Tom Waits
Ween
I've seen Ted Leo fourteen times, and it never gets old.
Oxford Collapse and We Are Scientists
And as much as I hate saying it, Barenaked Ladies and Alanis Morissette
none of these are footage from the shows i caught him at, but are in colorado nonetheless and give an example
aspen
denver
ft. collins
it's always such a big ol' crazy dance party seeing him and he always brings fresh stuff
a lot of times he'll let whoever jump on stage to groove, so the first time i saw him my squadron and i were brokendance battling some local chaps on stage while bassnectar brought plentiful whompz
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band +Michael Runion and Deep Sea Diver.
Not did the second two defy my belief that all opening bands have to suck,
but even being in the same room as Conor Oberst made me so excited I was about to hurl.
Lagwagon, The Lawrence Arms, and A Wilhelm Scream - Summer '06
I still submit that the greatest show of my life would have been Blink 182, Bad Religion, and Fenix TX on my 13th birthday in 1999, but my mom wouldn't let me go.
I saw Fischerspooner in 2005 at the House of Blues at Disneyland. They all had Mickey Mouse gloves on and my boyfriend at the time went on stage and danced with the back up dancers. He stage dove and the singer yelled "be gentle with that one." I saw Prince in 2008 at Coachella and that was just tits. That man never ages. Shiela E and the rest of the Revolution plus Morris Day and the Time performed with him. Lastly, I saw Morrissey when he did a 10 day concert lineup in LA in 2007. The tears were flowing, he played my favorite Smiths song too.
