#1 The Decemberists Short Hovel Tour.. The Decemberists played two sets the first one being Hazards of Love (their concept album) From start to finish... Um... I was in the front row, sounded so amazing and Colin smiled at me... SWOON!!!

#2The New Pornographers, Tegan and Sara and Death Cab for cutie with the LA philharmonic. T&S were funny and put on a great show. DCFC did two sets, one alone and then one with the Orchestra. It was the day after the 4th of JULY.. so They ended the show with Transatlanticism... with the orchestra, and FUCKING FIREWORKS... this brings me to my new rule about fireworks. I don't give a crap about them unless they are accompanied by the vocal styling of ben gibbard

#3 The Format, Murder By Death, The New Amsterdams, Straylight Run.... This was straylight Run's first tour, It was the first time I ever heard the format. SLR was late cause they had van trouble. So Matt Pryor played human jukebox till they got there... He covered hey ya and Cry me a river... IT was magical... I had so much fun... Even if i got in a fight with my BFF/Crush at the time.

That was a beastly show... just eliminate the first two bands who opened. I loved that trash talk played a ton of covers as well.

Not a big fan of them anymore, but this show was great.

It was either 2002 or 2003.
I remember the price was $5-8 bucks.

Picture this, but in a small room that only fills 80 people and the stage only about six inches from the ground.

Blink-182 in Boston was the topper.

Incubus, The Bravery, and some Irish folk-type opener In New York a few years back was also pretty tight.

Hmmmm the best show i went to has to be the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus show at this really cool club called the Boardwalk (Sac natives you know where im talking about) and what is hilarious is that the opening act is what made it awsome. it was this really cool band called Monty are I and they were amazing and i chilled with them afterwards and got a free signed CD and the pick. it was pretty cool.

Catch 22 at Birch Hill, NJ last show with Tom Kalnoky, and last show before Birch Hill turned into an old folks home.
The Blood Brothers at Starland Ballroom, one of the last shows before they broke up.
Against Me!/Alkaline Trio at Starland Ballroom Against me was awesome but what made that show was that Alkaline Trio played Goddamnit from start to finish.

again

also:

Widespread Panic was god-awful. There was no energy in them. I wanted a cartoon hook to appear to sweep them off of the stage.

KISS: just a novelty at this point. Their cliche theatrics have been far surpassed by a newer generation of crowd pleasers (Flaming Lips, Of Montreal).

Warped Tour '07 was pretty terrific, they had an excellent Ska line-up back when mostly all I listened to was Ska.
aand Streetlight Manifesto earlier this year was quite great, as well.
