Congrats.
No offense, but you can't take a 13 year old seriously when they say they like The Cure.
Most of them have only really listened to "Love Song" and thought "Hey! I can totally relate to loving someone unconditionally! I'm in pain, too!"
When really, the only reason they listened to that song in the first place is because their favorite band names The Cure as one of the main influences, even though they don't sound AT ALL like The Cure.
Then again, maybe it doesn't apply to you, maybe it does. It sure as hell did to me when I was 13.

lawl cause 16 year olds are much better authorities on the cure.
I thought this would be interesting because my answer involved an individual artist, not a band.
so...
I made a composite band,
Al Di Meola- guitarist
Marco Minnemann- drummer
Les Claypool- bassist or Melissa Auf der Maur (because she's a lady and plays bass, that's just plain attractive to me)
I couldn't think of a vocalist...
and I couldn't choose between zombie Chopin or zombie Brahms for piano
so I will just scratch that idea and go with,
The Beatles
hands down, best band- ever.
Sky Eats Airplane, A Day To Remember, Family Force Five, The Rolling Stone, Metallica, Emarosa, Hollywood Undead, My Children My Bride, Rage Against The Machine, Disturbed. Does that answer your question?
oh and 'rocketpower' congrats.
you managed to copy the music on my profile,
paste it on yours & put three different bands in front 'bring me the horizon, sex pistols, the beatles"
...original.
I totally agree with the Smiths but what about Joy Division and Sunny Day Real Estate... For me personally it is all about American Nightmare
Wes Eisold lyrically blows my mind and that band was hectic in the best way

I used to have a giant picture of Ian Curtis on my wall and played Love Will Tear Us Apart and Warsaw on top of a school drunk frequently when I was fourteen or fifteen, so you can probably imagine how I feel about Joy Division
