I would like to propose a nintendo/penis style word filter for this thread replacing every "hellogoodbye" with a "dub narcotic sound system".

It wouldn't be quite so depressing that way.

I found out about MOC through... shit, I don't remember. I started posting in early 2001, that's about all I remember. 6,000 some posts later, here I am, still, sporadically, and not 14 anymore. I changed my username sometime around 2003. Sometimes my original profile will still pop up in the double-digit pages (I think as low at 61 at one point) It might not have been that early in 2001, because if I recall correctly there was a site wipe, and a bunch of (if not all) profiles were deleted in 2000/2001. My friend claimed (facetiously) that the site was no longer cool after that, but rejoined a little while after I did. But I met them after I joined... I still kind of wish I'd met Wane along the way.

I've hung out with a couple board-posters over the years. Okrebecca (who lived in the gigantic apartment above her parents garage), in the very affluent area near Haverford college in Philadelphia while she was back from school for the summer. I think we chain smoked as she disputed my friend's queerness. I also met up with sarah maladymacleod (?? something like that) in Chicago on my way through coming back home after a solo-roadtrip. I took a shower at her house, shaved, decided she was too out of it to actually make out (she had a weird mushroom trip the day before where a mouse ran into her pillowcase and she decided to kill it while it was in there). She lived in a cool apartment in Logan Square. Also, when Marshall first moved back to Milwaukee he picked me up in his Cadillac and smoked a big blunt with me (my first), we went back to his house and hung out, I admired his vast toy skull collection, especially the one in the paralyzed-Barbie-wheelchair. I used to run into him a lot, now I occasionally see him riding around on his bike. He used to work at this bike shop where I'd go mostly just to shoot the shit with him (the owner is a ass and later got rid of him).

I was on this site like......... in 2002 and forgot about it. I was overwhelmed with picrave, friendster, and myspace. I just recently remembered this along with http://madradhair.com. heh

Who the hell has been waiting as long as I have for the return of picrave?

THIS IS HOW I FOUND OUT, TOO!!!
it was either the AOL indie chat or the AOL emo chat in like '01/'02.
lindsay & i first met in those chatrooms!!!! hahaha. OH MAN. those were the days.

also, for some reason this all reminds me of that seventeen mag. article where they showed "how to be emo" & one of the pick-up lines was, "is that the new promise ring 7" in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" LOLZ

Holy shit, I haven't even thought of that site in years.
