Does anybody else suffer from a disease called depression?
It's slowly eating away at everything happy in my life.
Every friendship I make it sabotages.
Every step I take forward it forcefully drags me two steps back.
And still I get my hopes up, just to come crashing back down.
Does anybody feel this way?
There so many people who try to fake it for attention.
But for some of us its really there.

I don't want to let the depression define my life.
It is not me.
I know that I can be someone different.
I have very faint memories of him in the past.
He plays guitar and writes beautiful music.
Not the shit I sing now about gray skies and falling tears.
He has friends and even has a chance at romance.
Not me, who ends up killing every relationship I touch.

I don't want to be the same person as my depression any more.
I want to be free.

Now I'm not saying you should go do drugs. I'm not saying it's good. All I'm saying is that if it weren't for substance abuse I wouldn't have made it through the shit teenage years.

Still suffer from it in bouts here and there, but, lil dude just believe in yourself. If your "friends" leave you for some stupid reason they were never your friends in the first place.

Yeah, apparently they're not your friends unless they touch your ballsack- I mean- stick with you through anything.

Depression is a disease. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain. You should talk to someone you trust. Find a friend, parent, teacher, someone you know would help you.

You're sixteen, your family can afford to buy you a guitar, posters, and I'm sure plenty more including food and clothing. You have a home. You probably have a pet. You probably have many luxuries in life that few people can ever dream about.

Life isn't so bad.

When you're starving, lack running/clean water, have only one pair of shoes that don't fit and more than likely have holes in them (that is if you even have shoes). Or when you, your family, and everyone else you know suffers from parasites on a daily basis, cholera, malaria, or any other disease that is associated with extreme poverty, then maybe you have something to be depressed about.

In other words, this:

Your life isn't so bad.

Depression fad-followers annoy me greatly. I dealt with depression for years. What I can tell you is that i wasn't shoving it into everyone's noses for sympathy or attention. If you think you are really depressed, I'm not going to offer sugar coated sympathies or hugs. Go to a doctor. There are too many emotion/attention leeches out there that use false depression to get their fix.

kid, dontcha know that depression, is actually caused by a mental mechanism, known as THINKING ABOUT HOW YOUR LIFE SUCKS... seriously! you're UNINTENTIONALLY making yourself depressed, everytime you think about those things, "i have no friends" "all my attempted friendships failed" ... everytime you think about these types of things namely negative parts of your life, you're unwittingly accidentally, making yourself be depressed, if you didnt think these things, you wouldnt feel that way... so STOP writing shit like this, and STOP thinking about negative aspects of life, theres way too many ... you hear? cause bro what you said there makes alot of sense, and i'm telling you this will work, its that easy, and it will work.

if you have some effed out mind, that keeps sparatically changing you into this sobby uncontrollable baffoon who can't operate himself in anyway other than to leak liquid from his eyes and squeel words out between howling unheard other words... then you have a chemical imbalance and you're fucked... but if you just, feel the way you feel, its due to the changing environments you're in like, life, school, and growing up (time) that have ahold of you (are around you) which change and cause changes... things that once were as you remember are not going to be anymore, and vice versa, and etc... sometimes just as you get comfortable right where you've been for quite a long while...

now, put you're thinking cap on, and go be the boy you wanna be, that means say hi to some pretty nice girls, because they like the attention, and SMILE and have some fun, if you can change to do just those 3 things everyday, you'll be doing great tomorrow. and come next year you'll probably be rocking the i love my fucking life thread.

now... i'm serious when i say stop wasting time thinking about things that suck, that is equal to, trying to be depressed, you understand? i hope so.... and i doubt i'll hear back from you... but i hope you read this if your post was serious, and not one of those joke things... haha if it was, you got me... but you're absolutely right you have the power to be anyone you want, and you should be exactly who you want. DO IT.

I actually read the post. I mean if this kid was feeling that bad it was sound advice.
Dont knock him for trying to be positive.

p.s. what i just mentioned is one of the useful effective methods of the real and most powerful tool you can arm yourself with: mind control... it's starts with your mind bro... control it, but dont bother trying to hard to control it, that requires more thinking, and more thinking leads to more mind controlling, which is controlled by more thinking you see... self mind control its actually much simplely practiced as not thinking things. I hope that all of this makes sense to you, and helps... i can't see it not making sense, and at least giving you an understanding of what it is you need to deal with here...

lifes a gift, take full advantage, my advice to you would probably be don't waste time... if theres things ahead of you that you see yourself having/being/getting by the time you're 40, or married or whatever, and you can do them now, get em done, i.e. get a license, get your highschool education... the faster you get to the life of your dreams, the faster you're going to be fully happy with your life... get it?

GO!

15storyfall: if that "tl:rd" was aimed at my response to this guy, you're going to get yours, not from me, but from yourself. i've already grown up, and coming from a kid who can't make the effort to type "tottally retarded" in full form... i'm happy enough just knowing that you are who you are...and think it's cool... see, and if its not to me, and its to the author of this post, well granted, it is a bit sad that this guy is going through changes that might be bothering him, but its not in anyway shameful, shit like this happens... its a natural part of life... i'm sure he'll make out just fine... if he's bold enough to share his feelings with the world about his life, then he's got all he need's to make it in this world. grow up a bit man. half his problem is probably that he is more grown up than half the fucking kids around him his age.

If you try and kill yourself, don't drink bleach. It doesn't work.
