Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Shit by the pinkerton thugs. I bought it at a thugs show, which was the first punk concert I'd ever been to. I was an introverted 15 year old kid who was mortified at the thought of dancing in view of anyone but my closest friends and family, and then only to amuse them, but fifteen seconds into punching numbers and I was in the pit getting my ass handed to me by a room full of six-foot punks and loving every minute of it.
I also got hit on by this gorgeous punk chick with a shaved head and the most amazing ass in the world but didn't have the balls to pursue her. That defining night basically fueled four summers of $10.00 shows in the shittiest venues Massachussets and Rhode Island had to offer, and driving home exhausted, nearly deaf and laughing my balls off. It also turned a self-loathing introverted timebomb into the extroverted hate monger you all know and love. I owe much of the awesome of the past 10 years to a punk rock band from Maine.

I've been thinking about this thread for a while....
I only have 2 so far, but more to come....

Doolittle--The Pixies
and
Loveless--My Bloody Valentine
I listen to both almost every single day and have been for years and years. Both bands create timeless music[imo].

I try and be compassionate to all, but there are some seriously rotten records being posted here. Not saying mine are the best, and that they simply represent the different shapes our lives are.

=(Magnetic Fields - "Charm of the Highway Strip")

=(the wedding present - "seamonsters")

there's a great number more...

"Strange" and "Blue Thunder" are A+ songs

"Sound And Vision" and "A Career In A New Town" are amazing. "Always Crashing In The Same Car" (Trent Reznor's favorite bowie song i hear) is a favorite.

"veloria" and "dig for fire" are two of the pixies best songs. HOWEVER i like Doolittle or Surfer Rosa better

there's a great number more...

Nirvana-- Nevermind

It was a hand-me-down from my brother, who's 14 years older than me. I got it maybe 3 years ago, when I was 11, and I loved it instantly. It's what really got me into alternative music, and without it I'm afraid I'd be listening to Britney Spears or something. Thank god for Nirvana.

THIS ALBUM IS TITLED AFTER A SHORTWAVE RADIO TRANSMISSION. I FRIEND OF MINE RECENTLY GAVE ME THE MP3S OF THE CONET PROJECT WHICH IS A COLLECTION OF RECORDINGS OF SIMILAR BIZARRE TRANSMISSIONS.
