I bought this when you could only get it as a UK import from my local
record store. I had never heard Jawbreaker, and this altered my life forever.

got this around the same time as Dear You, effected me in an equally
but totally different way. I saw Q and not U 3 times in two years and
then they broke up, which bummed me out like whoa.

I spent my entire sophomore year of high school listening to this.

I got this from my friend shortly before moving to Minneapolis and it has
gone on to define my four years in college.

agreed. I've had this album since I was in elementary, and I still listen to it in it's entirety.

OK, I already quoted Jubs on At The Drive-In's debut album, now time for my life-changing ones.
(mind you, it's hard for me to state these and I sometimes post the wrong ones).

this album was their most abrasive.

I never used to own this album, but I remember when it came out, my friend's older brother had it and he always used to play it. (by the way now I own it)

when I think about how many times I've seen these guys live, it reminds me of how good this album is (especially when they play "Kursk" live).

this was my favorite album when I was young, it still holds to this day as one of my all-time favorites.

I have many more but I don't have the time to state them all (I have work to do).

i'm pretty young so maybe mine aren't so impressive, but that's not the point of this thread (most impressive), i'm sure.
i guess these albums just kicked me off. i'm sure as i get older, the albums will change. but for now...

motion city soundtrack "commit this to memory"

pavement "brighten the corners"

bright eyes "lifted..."

Ive put some up before. But ill add some more..

Even though im no longer a Christian this album still had a big impact on me and i still enjoy it even today.

My first real introduction to Electronic music.. Eiffel 65 was so underrated imo

Broadened my musical taste big time.. Lead into my love of new age music, classical, and even ambient music.

Wow... This is tough not to just just list off an infinite number of albums.

Even limiting myself to 10 is tough.

Okay, these will need some explaining, so bear with me; their loosely done chronologically.

Metallica; Master of Puppets: This is the album I listened to the most when I was 15, and what got me to try guitar. Since then, I've moved pretty far from 80's metal, but it still shaped my life.

Nirvana; Unplugged: This was another one from about 10 years ago, but it was truly the first soft/non-metal album that I was just listening to CONSTANTLY. I'd gone from spending a couple years listening only to hard rock, to now opening up to softer music.

Radiohead; Ok Computer: Well there's a surprise. Ok Computer is the first really experimental album I bought, and probably the real start of getting away from listening to just what was being played on the radio. Now, that's not to say their the most underground band in the world; They get played on MTV and have had a few hits (along with at least one billboard #1 debut), but it was very far from what I'd known before.

Sonic Youth; Daydream Nation: Again, not a surprise. First album I'd ever heard like it, and really got me into playing around with just noise and really strange song structures, and it remains a favorite to this day.

Neutral Milk Hotel; In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: Such a great album. There were a bunch around the time I first heard this that solidified my love of the genre, but this is probably the most quintessential (and most replayed).

other bands worth mentioning: Built to Spill, Amon Tobin, Belle and Sebastian, Elliott Smith, Fiery Furnaces, NIN, Pavement, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Smashing Pumpkins, Super Furry Animals, Sufjan Stevens, Ted Leo, Tool

I'm not gonna even lie:

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
and at the same time
Any of the first 5 or 6 Led Zeppelin albums
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Brand New - Deja Entendu
Circa Survive - Juturna (nothing so beautiful in my life existed until I heard Anthony Green's voice on this album)
The Pixies - Come On, Pilgrim
The Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About
Karate - The Bed is in the Ocean
Mew - Frengers
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
Saves the Day - Bug Sessions (screw you if you hate their acoustic stuff)
Seabear - Singing Arc EP
lol The Used - whatever their first album was
and lately Telekinesis! changes my life - self titled album

I'll just stop now

I can get on board with a few albums already mentioned....

Tom Waits - "Rain Dogs"
Pixies - "Surfer Rosa"
Slint - "Spiderland"

I can go with these. There are plenty more.
