What are some of your favorite last songs on an album? the ones that end things with a real bang. or a wimper, which is just a more quiet, subdued bang. a bang that has cranky neighbors living underneath it who hit the ceiling with a broomstick whenever it attempts to be a full blown bang....
anyway

Morrissey - Speedway- Vauxhall and I
Joy Division - Decades - Closer
Pavement - Fillmore Jive - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Fugazi - The Argument - The Argument
Modest Mouse - Styrofoam Boots - The Lonesome Crowded West
Built to Spill - The Weather - Ancient Melodies of the Future
Interpol - A Time to Be So Small - Antics
Interpol - The Lighthouse - Our Love to Admire

and that's all i can think of for now. now u go!!!!

I am a fan of pretty much everything Blake Schwarzenbach does, but I find Rocket Boy to be dragged out. Not a bad song, but I don't think its an interesting enough song to go ten minutes. I agree with almost every other post, especially Bro Hymm. I was never a big Pennywise fan, but thats a good track to end any album.

I'm going to say

A Day in The Life - Sgt. Pepper (The Beatles)
Jodie - Can't Slow Down (Saves the Day)
Follow the Sound - Destination Failure (Smoking Popes)

I instantly though Jodie, but Firefly is pretty epic also. Saves the Day has a pretty good habit of ending every album on an epic note. Even though a lot of people have mixed feelings about In Reverie, Tomorrow Too Late is a good ending song also.

The Beatles - Her Majesty (Abbey Road)
The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset (Something Else)
The Cure - The Lovecats (Japanese Whispers)
The Dresden Dolls - Sing (Yes, Virginia...)
Patrick Wolf - Lands End (Wind In The Wires)
The Horrors - Sea Within A Sea (Primary Colours)

Most of these are just songs I feel are good conclusions to the albums, or that I've previously thought stood out from the other tracks or as an 'album ender'. [I realise my rambling was probably unneeded, but...]

Her Majesty is out of place on Abbey road. It was originally supposed to follow Mean Mr Mustard, if you listen carefully you can hear the end of Mr Mustard at the begining

Fully agree with these two.
