is it required to have an invite to participate in someone else's wave? i really want to start using it for a bunch of stuff goign on in my life r/n

I do think you have to, but I don't think they mean for it to be that way permanently. It is still in the early days of development. You can request an invite too from google or from anyone who has invites but they're not instantaneously sent.

I WAS GOING TO ASK WHAT THE HELL GOOGLE WAVE WAS, BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THE SMARMY RESPONSES.
