At least Diablo 3 has a WEBSITE.

I want to know what the hell is up with the next episode of HL.

I remember when blizzard was like "Oh, no....We're making a diablo 3. Sorry."
5 years later, "Ok, we lied."
Still twiddling my thumbs here....

I find this unbelievably coincidental that I stumble onto his thread today, as I'm going to buy diablo 2 for the third time to replace my lost one. NEED MOAR DIABLO. I shall play for the first time in 4 years. I'm going to die in nostalgic ecstasy.
I heard half life was coming soon, but I forget from where, check the Valve website.
Diablo 3 is so close, I can taste it. Brb catching up on my lore like a good nerd.

Yeah, i lost the cds like a week after i bought them, i still have the serial codes though, so when i "happen upon" the isos it's still somewhat legal.

Borderlands looks like it may be a good Diablo substitute for a while...

I've been playing this a lot recently:

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup... Download it HERE.

Kind of like Diablo, but turn-based and with tile graphics, and a lot more depth. More character classes, races, stats, enemies, items, interactions, etc. It's a 'roguelike,' which Diablo was supposed to be a commercialized version of.

Cool cool.

Another one of my fav roguelikes is ZangbandTK...

It has some other features Stone Soup doesn't have, like an overworld map, different towns, stores, quests...
its world is a weird mashup of Tolkien, Zelazny, Moorcock, Warhammer, D&D, etc.

Stone Soup, and Dungeon Crawl on which it's based, is kind of a more 'streamlined' roguelike than Angband and its variants, such as Zangband, removing some things that are cool but not directly related to combat.

It's a lot of fun, much more "arcade" feeling than the original.

Monk class is a disappointment so far, feels like button-masher class.

Graphically, it's very much the same, albeit at higher resolutions. Drops still work the same.

And FTR, I was ADDICTED to Diablo II and the expansion for YEARS.
