I believe in Jesus and Heaven and all that.
But, I don't see the point of church services.
You already believe...so....you go to learn about Jesus and listen to stuff you've heard all your life?
My parents stopped forcing me to go, so I haven't been in about 4 months.

I'm not just saying organized religion. What do you guys believe? Whether it be mainstream and organized or independent and scattered.

in contrast to the blindly atheist leanings of most posters, i am very firmly agnostic. simply put: i am absolutely sure that i don't and can't comprehend the true nature of life and the universe.

Exactly. I believe the meaning of life is to pursue the meaning of life. We're supposed to reach for the unattainable, be that the machinations of some invisible deity or natural selection hard at work, I could give a fuck.

the fact that the universe simply goes on forever. and where it came from. or how it started. from nothing. and that it is constantly expanding.

then don't even dabble with the implications of quantum physics. non-causal interactions between the oserver and the physical laws? nonlocality? that stuff straight up goes against the way my brain works.

the big question is, WHY ARE WE HERE
and what, if we weren't?

that question stresses your brain

Not mine. It's why I love agnosticism, I only care as much as I want to.

religion is a fraud, it's for weak minded people that are susceptible to manipulation.
I consider myself to be an staunch agnostic, a freethinking rationalist. the existence of any deity or afterlife will forever be unknown.

there is no reason we are here. total coincidence. our planet just happened to be in the just right spot for "life" to take form.

what's more fucked up is that dinosaurs were around a hell of a lot longer than we have. in terms of MILLIONS of years.
in fact they were around longer than they have been extinct for. wtf
