Yes I'm pulling the I'm older than you card.
I understand when you're young it's important to be and feel noticed either positively or negatively. But here at make out club we have different kind of community. We value people with wit, insight, musical tastes, artistic tastes and general humor. Now I understand that the bands you like may seem influential because all your friends listen to them and they feed your hyperactive attention spans with fast paced catchy rifts intermixed with screaming, auto tuning and boys that look like girls. Hey we gotcha, david bowie wore red heels. But that is beside the point. The majority of folks here on make out club do not want you turning this into a myspace comments section. We really don't want to know who the biggest bitch at your school is nor do we want to here the same argumentative/vehement agreements on gay marriage, your politcal stance or social acceptance. Hell as it has been said here, most of us are very liberal.
You may ask "why are you being so mean to me?" Well in all honestly it's probably just cause you're new. However when "U TyP3 Li3K ThIS" it makes us want to gouge out your eyes and shove pureed english lit/grammar books into your cranial cavity. Some of us are old with weak eyes and it pains us to read that gibberish. Others of us just have an appreciation for the english language and the forms and rules it follows. Others are non-native english speakers and that shit is hard to read enough in english.
I understand that makeoutclub.com is free to register and use and we encourage new users. However this is not the type of place to just jump into and try to establish your own existing community over the one that is already here (IE flood and monopolize the board with all your super cool friends from school). Some of the users here have been around since the conception of this site. Most of us paid our dues on the forums when we first started. Being flamed by the older folks or having call out threads posted about how much we suck at the internet. This is normal ribaldry. It will pass, but only if you elevate your standards to the level of the majority on this forum.
At this point you may be saying to yourself "There are so many dumb posts on here that I should be able to make my own." The posters of these dumb posts have already been taken out back and harassed and are allowed to do as they please. You as a new user/teenager should be discouraged from these types of posts until you have been accepted into the community.
As I stated before, we speak english on this site. Not a "Th!S." There are some things that pass like commonly accepted forum memes such as Hoars (gibby) etc. You will learn these as you continue on this site. However if you try to speak legibly and intelligently you will be accepted faster into the community as your ability to communicate will paint a brighter picture for the older users.
In your posts, try to stay away from pop emo/screamo/deathcore/2 guys auto tune screaming to a boombox or any other form of teenybopper music. It isn't emo, emo died with the nineties. Also we hate it with a passion. Try to expand your musical influence. This board contains users from all walks of life and musical tastes; from punk and hardcore (read hardcore punk, not anything labled as hardcore now) to sultry sounds like iron and wine, to electronica to folk and yes there are a few guys here that would dance around to lady gaga in their tighty whites.
The general gist is. Bring something to the table with you that we consider valuable. If you were going to the arctic to trade with eskimos would you bring a string bikini and expect a full fur winter suit? Probably not.
I just want the best for you no matter how much of an asshole I am.
p.s. Awkward camera angle myspace pictures probably aren't a good way to make your first impression. If anything the pseudo-artistic black and white photo at a coffee shop portrait is more accepted. And don't post pictures of the moon, "emo" artwork or anything else that isn't photographically you (it's against the sites rules afterall)
thank you for reading.
