I always thought having an internet "persona" was dumb. but text on a webpage is definitely different than having face to face conversations.

I'm way quiet irl. I don't really go out of my way to say anything.

Oddly all the kids I've met from Auburn are that way.

Same here, I am WAY shy in person (someone else on moc said they couldn't see me being shy? anyways, I am...big time)

Opposite for me, every single person I know from Auburn are loudish/funny/out there

it's more or less a peaceful place here. easy not to have an axe to grind, also a blank canvas if you want to paint all over it, depending on your personality. I grew up with friends of both types.

i'm shy and like to listen. i won't say something if i have nothing to say. some people don't get this.

i'll also make jokes for myself, not for a crowd.

I'm the opposite, quieter on moc than irl because face to face, i make more sense, in text, everything seems like gibberish:/

I don't know if my internet persona and my personal persona are much different. I don't exactly have an outsider's perspective.

I guess the big difference would be that I am mostly a thinker than a speaker. I choose my words very carefully, and communication through text allows me to have more time thinking about what to say.

However, I must say, Molly and Brittany are the only two MOC peoples I met in person, and they are both awesome online and IRL.

aw!
but seriously, some people get angry! if i'm not in a customer service situation, i completely reserve the right not to 'oh okay!', 'oh really?' or 'oh that sounds good' to things i DON'T find interesting.

Seriously, I hate small talk
I really really do
My whole life people either thought I was "stuck up" or "intimidating" which is bonkers to me..because I smile/laugh A LOT, I'm just shy that's all
I only know this because friends of mine have told me when they first met me they thought I was just being "too cool" or whatever and then they got to know me and realized I'm just mousy

I reserve the right to say "I have no idea what you're talking about" when someone starts rambling and gets theirself on a roll that has no basis in anything we've ever discussed before.

yeah i'm fairly reserved at first too and it can be off-putting to some people.
you're too cute to be ever thought of as stuck-up!!

i always reserve the right to say nothing when someone shows me their shitty tattoo waiting and are waiting for a comment. i'm not that rude but i don't lie.

I am sorta different in IRL... I am very shy until i know my surroundings. I also am a totally different person at work... and I think a lot of people say that. But in my case I am trying to be the funniest/loudest girl in the room.. because that what will get me more work.

I hardly exist on MOC and I keep to myself while on here but IRL, I talk way too much and my sense of humor can be too sexual/crude.

Ohh psh! You gals totally exist on MOC. Hello caranicole gibby callout thread? And lots of people love you Anette. And I have seen both of your sexual senses of humor.

Personally, I type more than I talk unless I know you and feel comfortable with you. If I don't really know you I will smile and nod a lot.

I've been accused of being too nice and coming off as sort of a pushover.

I also smile and chuckle a lot, unless I'm doing my deadpan "say something insane or sardonic and see how people react" schtick.

I'm far more eloquent and well-spoken online. IRL I talk like trash and tend to insult friends as a greeting (we all do it to each other).

" 'ey, douchie!"
" 'ey, fuck ya mother!"

i am probably funnier in person. my sense of humor doesnt translate well on the internet so i basically dont really even try. i have different moods though. sometimes i am quiet and dont say much. other times i am rambling on about stuff nobody cares to hear.

i talk a lot and have lengthy conversations IRL.
i'm also quite bitchy when the need arises. and always sarcastic.
some of that comes across over the screen, but not usually.
either way, i don't really give a fuck.

Im guilty of similar things.
Sometimes I'll say things like " so LOL on you for being so drunk last night"
and sometimes I have to explain what I just said to someone who spends less time on the internet.
