This is odd, because I was seconds away from posting an In Reverie appreciation thread. I love this album, but gun to my head I would have to say Stay What You Are is the superior "classic" STD album.
I was listening to this a couple days ago and my roommate broke it to me that he doesn't like Saves the Day and asked me to change the music.
I put on Hello Bastards and he told me he doesn't like Lifetime either.
Saves the Day tests a lot of peoples nerves, the vocals turn a lot of people off. I used to feel the same way, until I discovered that there was a STD song to describe almost every experience I've ever had in life. They are definitely a grower

the first time i heard this record i couldnt believe how good it was.
i heard they recorded a poppier record than can't slow down and thought it was gonna be garbage before it came out.
so good though.
Yeah what's neat about them is how they've consistently gotten better too. More thoughtful and songforms have steadily improved and just, they're good and it's hard to deny that. I like all of their records for different reasons and it's not like I'm some superfan. It's just good music!
I mixed Chris when he came though on the where's the band tour and he was the best of the night. Both performance and reception. Also was the nicest. We chatted for a minute about the old days hah.
i have a thirty minute drive to work that is almost exclusively dedicated to sing along to STD, nothing makes my day more then windows down on the mass pike in the middle of summer blasting it
