Knowing that if I lay down without being exhausted I won't fall asleep, and I'll just end up tossing and turning.

Ugh me too :( I have been sick lately and so mostly at home lounging around and so when I go to sleep I simply can't.

I miss going to bed at a reasonable hour.
I guess it doesn't really matter now though as I am not in school, have no job yet, and live on my own.

nothing keeps me up at night!
i bike to and from work, and work two jobs 4 out of 7 days a week so at night when it's time to sleep, nothing stands in my way! it's the only good part about being that busy!

my suitmates and the fact that I am really picky and can't sleep if there is any sort of noise in the room that I am not making... sleeping in college is difficult for me :( :( :(

Right now the book I'm reading,
must finish, must finish, must finish...
But mostly because one of my good friends lives in Canada, so he keeps me up late talking due to the different time zones and whatnot.

i know how you feel...
someone i talk to often is in New Zeland...
so i'm up at 2 am talking to a completely awake guy, and i'm about to pass out..its an interesting conversation consisting of "what?? that doesn't make sense" and "wait, i'm lost"

that is screwing up my sleeping too

Willpower.
It takes a ton of fucking effort for me to stay awake at all. I can (and have) go to sleep at any time of day, because I'm pretty much always tired.

Isn't it annoying? It's so hard to find a time when you're both awake and not busy.
Else one of you starts talking completely unrelated sleepy shit.
I've fallen asleep more than once over video/voice call, really not too good ):

The elevators.

I live on the 12th floor of a 12 story building and my room is directly across from three elevators. My building is also an old hotel turned into an apartment building - so it's rickety, squeaky, breaks a lot...

It's the squeaking more than anything else that annoys me, but I wouldn't say it keeps me up at night.

So I shouldn't be contributing this thought to this thread, but since I've already written it out

The wallpaper is of horses and carriages, there are framed paintings of old victorian homes on the walls, and all of the furniture is the same just refurbished. I love my night stand. It has one of those old brass hood lamps that has three outlets at its base for convenience and a drawer where I imagine a bible used to sit.
