oh and i love this..
ie, what patton is on about.. not the douchebag comments on him.
I actually saw this and basically figured that anyone who called Mike Patton a douche based from what he says in said video has prolly never listened to T. Rex before.
jubs Said:
isnt his claim to fame his "superior" vocal range?
someone post the best ever song with mike patton in it itt. dude looks like a super douche
In a way yes - at the time Mr. Bungle were on the up-and-come, it just so happened that Faith No More needed a new singer. When what would become Mr. Bungle's label heard what would become bungle's first album, they had a kind of Butthole Surfers reaction - "what the hell is this?" Knowing it would be REALLY hard to market Mr. Bungle, the label gave MIke Patton an option - sing for Faith No More (yes, they realized the man could sing and figured he would suit FNM well (if you still doubt Patton's vocal ability - listen to "From Out Of Nowhere," the first track on The Real Thing)) and they would in turn put out Mr. Bungle's music. The label figured and Patton knew that if his joining FNM proved successful, people would naturally be drawn to check out Mr. Bungle.
Regardless if you consider Patton's vocal range "superior" is arguable, but you can't deny, the dude CAN sing.
And for the best thing Patton has ever sang on, these two are pretty good examples:
And if you think he's a douche is beside the point. Few modern musicians can even hold a torch to Patton in terms of the complexity/variety of projects/music the guy has made or has been involved in. It's a fair thing to say that no two Patton projects ever really sound the same. He's one of the only people making music today that I consider and honest original.
