OLIVIA WILDE AND DIRECTOR TAO RUSPOLI PREPARE FOR WORLD PREMIERE OF FEATURE FILM "FIX" IN NEW YORK CITY NOVEMBER 14TH

LSI -- November 4th, 2009 -- Actress Olivia Wilde (“House”) will join director/husband Tao Ruspoli (JUST SAY KNOW), Shawn Andrews (DAZED AND CONFUSED), and Megalyn Echikunwoke (“24”, “C.S.I. Miami”) on the red carpet at the Tribeca Grand Screening Room on November 14th, 2009 for the official premiere of their critically acclaimed new film FIX. The award winning film, which Oliver Stone said marks the arrival of "a bold new style and talent", opens in New York City at the Village East Cinema on November 20th.

The filmmakers have also launched several contests to support the film’s opening. The first, “What’s Your FIX?”, asks contestants to create a short video about that one thing they can’t live without. Finalists will be selected by director Ruspoli and participants will be competing for prizes including two tickets to the red carpet premiere with Wilde, Ruspoli and cast. The winning video will be screened for the opening night audience at the Village East Cinema on November 20th prior to FIX.

Also just announced is a contest that will run on Twitter starting the week of November 16th. Contestants play by following the director (@TaoRuspoli) on Twitter. Beginning November 16th and running through the 25th, Ruspoli – winner of the Heineken Red Star Award - will send a ‘ticket giveaway NOW” alert at a random time each day via Twitter. The first tweet back each day wins; between the 16th and the 20th the winner receives a pair of tickets for the Opening Night screening on evening of the 20th, and from the 21st through the 25th they win a pair of tickets to that evening’s New York City screening - personally given to them by Ruspoli at the theater before showtime. Winner may transfer prize to a local friend if winner is out of state.

A third contest is called “What’s Your Dog’s FIX?”. The contest is cosponsored by Tailwaggers Pets and features the film’s canine co-star Lola Prosciutto Ruspoli, an English Bulldog owned in real life by Wilde and Ruspoli. Contestants need to snap a photo of their pet and write a short essay about their dog’s fix. Prizes include a $500 gift certificate to Tailwaggers Pets and an 8x10 glossy ‘pawtographed’ by Lola and signed by Wilde and Ruspoli.

One of the most engaging race-against-time films of recent memory. Fix follows the 15-hour journey that Milo, who is filming the entire day, and his reluctantly-involved girlfriend Bella have as they pick up Milo’s brother Leo from jail. The trio have until 8 PM to get him to drug rehab or he’ll be forced to serve a lengthy prison sentence. Very much a road movie that uses Los Angeles and its geography as a character, Fix is manically paced, as Leo has countless small and large tasks to take care of before he gets to rehab, including visits to virtually all parts of LA with virtually every type of LA denizen. Coupled with his strict deadline, Leo must also come up with the funds to pay for rehab or he won’t be admitted. Although faced with time and financial targets, Leo somehow manages to make the most of his final 15 hours of freedom.

What keeps the film on a relentlessly exciting and engaging trajectory is not only the speedy performance of Shawn Andrews as Leo, but the cast of characters he, Milo and Bella meet along the way, including married women, crazed lawyers, spiritual friends, unsavory mechanics and understanding police. Add to this mix classic cars, a slobbering dog, as well as Bella’s initial distaste for the task at hand, and Fix is a completely satisfying movie. From its interesting shooting style of the entire story being filmed by Milo (director Tao Ruspoli in a terrific dual role) to its touching conclusion, this is a feature film that signals a wonderful new voice in American independent feature filmmaking.
